Sea Eagles

Written by Chris

Portree has several companies who run boat trips out into the Sound of Raasay.  One of the highlights is to stop and feed white tailed sea eagles who nest nearby.  The boat skipper will locate one of the pair of eagles, wave and throw a fish into the sea.  If you are lucky then you will be treated to a magnificent sight of one of these huge birds come down close to the boat, and collect the fish.

In the gallery below are a few of the images I took recently.

In my last post I took a trip back in Skye's history to look at the ruined Church at Kilmuir just outside Dunvegan.  For this post I thought it would be interesting to go even further back in time to the Iron Age.

Have lived on Skye for nearly 6 years and every now and then we get to catch up with some Dolphins. Looking for Otters spotted a white wave in the distance. The water was like a duck pond so had to be something swimming! And there they were!
